Moab, Utah
234 Miles
Moab served as our home base for exploring Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park.
We didn't realize when we made plans to come to Moab that we would be entering the “mecca” for off-roading. We began to get a clue when we pulled into our campsite to find this parked next to us.
These were owned by several families who came from Santa Rosa, CA to enjoy the rocks of Moab. I spoke to one of the men (very nice guy), and he told me that Moab is THE place for serious off-roaders. He pointed out some of the cliffs that he had been on top of that week.
Crazy!
Anyway, driving around town you can see that it's all about four wheel driving. There are a lot of Jeeps and trucks with lift kits. You can rent regular Jeeps or even Hummers (the real Hummers H1's), or ATV's or the side-by-side UTV's.
We may try to get into something before we leave.
