Arches National Park

Arches got its name because...you guessed it... there are a lot of natural rock arches. I'm sure that there is a geological process that explains how this happens, but I slept through that part of class so you may have to research it yourself.

I will say that the landscape at Arches seems out of this world. If you were looking for a good place to shoot a movie about Mars, this would be it.

Viewing many of the arches involved a short (or sometimes not so short) hike. We were blessed with some cloud cover and a breeze this morning, which really helped a lot. Hannah and Kendall tried to hitch a ride, but were unsuccessful.

On our way back from Arches, we went to investigate some petroglyphs that we had heard about.

One of the locals told us about a petroglyph of a woolly mammoth, but we weren't able to go check it out.
